Will Donald Trump’s Tariffs Hurt Or Help American Families?

Whenever I have a policy issue I start off my research by trying to gather what our Founding Fathers thought on the policy.  I believe that is ALWAYS the best place to start.

I started this article because of a new trend that is happening around the world of course blamed on President Trump. Countries, fueled by our own media’s propaganda, are starting to call America a “Rouge nation”!!

Here China calls us just that, reported by Sputnik News International in US a ‘Rogue Nation’ as State-Run Chinese Media Widens Global Charm Offensive

“Picking up on suggestions increasingly made by pundits in the Western media, Beijing’s state-run English-language newspaper China Daily has begun referring to the United States as a “rogue nation” ”

“Noting only the recent disruptive Trump administration policy moves on Iran and trade, Kagan observed that the US leader was ignoring the current world order while viewing global opportunities through a narrow perspective of personal gain.”

I would argue that as an American Citizen I for one am glad that President is putting Americ’s interest first. That is his job. America can not take care of the world without first taking care of its own.

They continue:

“The Trump November 4 deadline demands that long-term economic and military allies of the US follow the edicts of Washington exclusively, rather than using the guidance of the United Nations Security Council, according to Beijing.

China Daily, however, noted that Americans are not representative and do not necessarily support the increasingly irrational actions of its current president and his administration.

At the Council on Foreign Relations, senior fellow Edward Alden pleaded just last week for Washington’s allies to suspend judgment of the US as a rogue nation, providing reasoning suggesting that Congress, business leaders, the agricultural sector and public opinion will soon “force Trump to his senses.””

I for one have faith in President Trump as he has already kick-started our economy in his first year in office, Something Obama could not do in his 8 years by entering into this American job killing “agreements”

And here from the Sidney Morning Herald in Donald Trump’s America has just become a rogue nation Why do they think so?

“To now, the US President has broken American commitments on a wide range of trade deals, climate change promises and other matters.

But his announcement withdrawing the US from its international nuclear agreement with Iran and five other countries plus the European Union makes the US an active disruptor of international security.”

So this is not a treaty but a policy and Agreement President Obama made.  Doesn’t President Trump have the right to his own policy? This is not a treaty nor did our Congress approve this “deal” according to the Washington Post in If the Iran deal had been a Senate-confirmed treaty, would Trump have been forced to stay in? Nope.

“Though, many opponents of the agreement argued that Obama’s failure to seek ratification was what allowed President Trump to end it unilaterally. According to Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.): “Donald Trump isn’t ripping up a treaty. … President Obama made a bad deal with Iran without support from Congress, and today President Trump is pulling out of President Obama’s personal commitment, and he doesn’t need Congress’s support to do so.” Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) tweeted that “President Trump had every right to withdraw the U.S. from what was effectively an Obama executive agreement.”

Obama knew he could not get this through congress so he used his “phone and pen” to dictate to America just how it was going to be!! This became a habit of the past Administration.

As for the Climate Pact exit here once again President Trump was thinking about American citizens first, even over the Big Corporations (special interest) as reported in the New York Times in Small Businesses Cheer ‘New Sheriff in Town’ After Climate Pact Exit

“As news that President Trump was pulling out of the Paris climate accord hit at a luncheon for small-business owners in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday, an already happy crowd suddenly turned euphoric.

“It was like a major win at a football game,” said Rick Longenecker, a management consultant who had been among the 50 or so attendees who gathered to trade thoughts amid a rapidly improving local economy.

While multinational corporations such as Disney, Goldman Sachs and IBM have opposed the president’s decision to walk away from the international climate agreement, many small companies around the country were cheering him on, embracing the choice as a tough-minded business move that made good on Mr. Trump’s commitment to put America’s commercial interests first.”

What does that signal to American Citizens? We finally have a President putting us first again and not the interest of the globalist!! He needs our support more than ever as he is attacked by every globalist front.

Now let’s take a look at what our founding fathers thought about Tariffs:

The Tariff Act of 1789, was the first major Act passed in the United States under its present Constitution of 1789 and had two purposes as stated in Section I of the Act which reads as follows

“Whereas it is necessary for that support of government, for the discharge of the debts of the United States, and the encouragement and protection of manufactures, that duties be laid on goods, wares and merchandise:”

“There is broad consensus among economists that free trade helps workers in developing countries, even though they are not subject to the stringent health and labor standards of developed countries. ”

Free trade helps other countries, and is a propaganda tool for redistribution of wealth!!

“Protectionists postulate that new industries may require protection from entrenched foreign competition in order to develop. This was Alexander Hamilton‘s argument in his “Report on Manufactures“, and the primary reason why George Washington signed the Tariff Act of 1789.[citation needed] Mainstream economists do concede that tariffs can in the short-term help domestic industries to develop”

This is what our Founding Fathers thought and it is the Policy of President Trump. Of, course our media will slander him for every and all decisions. He has made their globalist allies very upset. We are not run by the UN and never will be. America is a sovereign nation and should protect its interests first!!

Those advocating for Globalism are turning their backs on America and their fellow citizens.

Here is how you can tell NAFTA is a disaster. Both George Bushs’ and Bill Clinton promised Nafat would bring more jobs to the American people and it would stop the flow of illegal immigration. Which now seems to be Trump’s fault also. Guess they were wrong hmmm.

Here The Americans with Charlie LeDuff Show the effects of 20 years of NAFTA. It neither helped America or our Latin Neighbors. I helped the globalist and their greed!!

Here a desperate American Citizen in Detriot begs to be put first before Illegals. Obama did not listen to these pleas!!!

The resources wasted on Illegal Immigration is preventable. If we enforced our laws, made very tough penalties on businesses for hiring illegals, used E-verify and cut all illegals off welfare essentially shutting down the US tit Illegals would find their way back home at no expense to the US Taxpayer!!!

We are a nation of laws.  Many aim at breaking that in America by ignoring and vilifying our laws. We have also witnessed a direct attack on our law enforcement in the last Administration and continuing now with the calls to “abolish ICE” by politicians and the media. Are they really advocating for lawlessness and acting as if they have America’s best interests at mind? Remeber how Rioters we called Protestors by our media and politicians?

It comes down to a choice between what Globalist believe and what our Founding Fathers believed. I will always side with those who sacrificed so much to create America instead of those trying to fleece it for profit!!~RJH
